Day 53. 52km (53302kms)
Sadly there was no sunrise to view from my east facing tent, the morning beginning overcast. But I received an encouraging thumbs up from an early morning walker as I packed away a sand-riddled tent.
Despite having no specific tourist attractions to visit, it was an ideal day on the bike; Easter meant the roads were quiet, cloud cover made the cycling less sweaty, but most of all I got my Internet responsibilities done in the morning, and I already knew - thanks to Warm Showers - where I would be sleeping that night. As a result I was able to relax and enjoy a full afternoon in Pomorie, during which I received an Easter blessing, then baptised myself in the Black Sea.
A decent enough bike path led me the remainder of the way along the coast into Burgas. Here, in another pleasant sea park a proper bike lane emerged which took me to Warm Showers host Evgeny’s place. He invited me to stay as long as I pleased, so I will take the opportunity to do some bike maintenance and explore the town.
