North Cape, at 71°10′21″N 25°47′04″E, about 2,102.3 km (1,306.3 mi) from the North Pole, is located at the northern end of Norway, where the Norwegian Sea, part of the Atlantic Ocean meets the Barents Sea, part of the Arctic Ocean. Nordkapp Globe Mounment is the landmark of North Cape, built on the top of the 307-meter-high cliff, where visitors, weather permitting, can watch the midnight sun from 14 May to 31 July. The Sámi are the natives of North Cape, they are traditionally inhabiting in the region 0f northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and of the Kola Peninsula in Russia. Their livelihoods includes coastal fishing, fur trapping, and reindeer herding.
