At 1:08 pm Tuesday Conroe Fire was dispatched to a reported major accident with entrapment at SH 105 West and Highland Hollow, just west of FM 3083. The first unit arrived and called for additional ambulances and fire and rescue equipment. He reported at least 10 vehicles involved. Conroe Engine 5 arrived and was tasked with freeing the driver of a pickup that had been sandwiched between two vehicles. The driver was thrown to the passenger side floorboard and was in critical condition. Crews worked checking on other victims. A total of seven were transported to Conroe and Hermann Hospital, All in stable condition except for the one rescued. A loaded dump truck was traveling west on SH 105 and started down a large hill. At the top of the hill is an overhead sign warning of a traffic light below and at the intersection beside the regular overhead lights, a traffic light is set on a pole approximately twelve feet higher so it can be seen on the hill. Conroe Police are currently inspecting the truck. A witness said the truck was at highway speed when it never even slowed for the traffic.
