Blue Economy is, by definition of the World Bank, the "sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods, and jobs while preserving the health of ocean ecosystem."

The Blue Economy webinar aims to shed light on the blue economy's significance in fostering ecological balance, economic growth, and job creation. All Euronext countries are adjacent to the ocean and have rich and long-standing traditions in fishing, shipping, and seafaring. There is increasing evidence that losses in the oceans’ natural capital, resulting from unsustainable economic activity, are eroding the resource base on which growth depends. Blue Economy encourages people to improve stewardship of oceans and other blue resources to foster economic growth but, at the same time, reminds to all of us that oceanic sustainability may be threatened by human intervention.

JA Europe and Euronext's goals is to inspire secondary students to think beyond the financial aspect of building a business but also address the threats to the oceans, and ecosystems in general to mitigate the consequences of today's climate change crisis.

The webinar will be opened by a Euronext employee providing theoretical information about oceans and ecosystem circularity and followed by three JA alumni sharing their entrepreneurial journeys in building sustainable businesses in different corners of Europe. Live Q&A will conclude the webinar.
