This is the first episode of a series set in Harran in Upper Mesopotamia. Harran is home to not only Harranism which is a mix of Hellenism (particularly Neoplatonism) and Mesopotamian paganism, but it is also the home of the Neoplatonic Academy. Harran is renowned the center of science and learning during the Islamic Golden Age. Featuring in this early part of the series is Thabit ibn Qurra, he is a mathematician, physician, astronomer, and translator who lived in Baghdad until he is sent back home to Harran where he was once ostracized, but now governs the area. This first episode will be about his early life and his first years as the Lord of Harran.
