As for my introduction to Damien Rice and his music, it happened when I stumbled upon his debut album while listening in a Tower Records booth showcasing the new releases back in 2002. I was instantly hooked and he's been my favourite singer/songwriter ever since. After 9 (2006), I was kinda disappointed there's very little new materials until 8 yrs later and I was so anxious waiting for MFFF that I preordered the super deluxe wood edition (5000 numbered edition) from UK once it was announced early 2014 and am still so glad that I did (I got no. 1877). His music just speaks to me (in a depressing but good kinda way). ヅ

I recall his first two one-man shows in Singapore in 2006 then 2016 and he came twice again for short performances in different festivals. I was hoping he would bring a band with him this time so we could hear LIVE the full instrumentation from his recordings. But I'm just glad he had Francisca with him on cello. She was a great replacement for outstanding Lisa. ヅ
