5th sept, made our way to Nord Kapp. But almost 30 minutes into my drive, I had a warning on my tyre pressure monitor system. The rear tyre’s rubber valve was cracked and was leaking air fast. I inspected the other tyres and all of them had similar deep cracks. I had replaced my tyres in Malaysia before this trip but I did not pay attention to the quality of the free valves provided. I never had such failures before. The cold climate must have made the rubber brittle.
The view at Nord Kapp was spectacular and worth the trip. But the winds from the North was cold and very strong. I could not sleep the whole night, so the group eventually decided to leave early next morning.
6th Sept, Albert and I drove down to Alta. We arrived there by 2.45pm. Albert was planning to drive to Rovaniemi in Finland, but I was planning to camp around so we would part ways and meet up at Rovaniemi within a day or two.
