11 Night Arctic Circle Cruise - Visited the town of Honningsvag located in the extreme northern part of Norway. Shore excursion to Kamoytvaer a quaint fishing village that lies along the Kamoyfjorden. We also stopped at Skarsvag that claims the distinction of being the world's northernmost fishing village. Our tour bus stopped for a photo op of the North Cape, the mystifying cliff formation that soars 1,000 feet above sea level and that is regarded as Europe's northernmost point. This is where the Atlantic meets the Arctic. Of course as we sailed away from Honningsvag on our way to Alesund, we enjoyed the splendor of the Midnight Sun. From mid-May to the end of July the arctic sky shines brightly round the clock.
