The Kon Tiki Expedition of 1947 is still renown as one of the greatest adventures embarked upon by mankind to date. On this journey, six men crossed the Pacific unsupported on a balsa wood raft sailing over 4300 nautical miles over 101 days from Peru to the Polynesian Islands.
