Lofoten: Mountains, Water and Sky is a vlog of my recent travels in Lofoten (September 2026).

Itinerary:

We stayed in an airbnb for 12 days in Krystad in the north of Moskenesøya next to Selfjord and a few minutes drive to Volanstinden and the famous Fredvang bridges.

We decided to stay in one place as we knew that with the unpredictable weather, our plans could constantly change and we needed a buffer to give us the best chance of hiking weather! And it worked: we managed to hike every other day and chose the best weather for Reinebringen, Volandstinden and the Trollfjord Cruise.

We hiked Roren, Reinebringen, Mannen, Kvalvika, Volandstinden, and Mulstoa. I’d struggle to pick a favourite: they all reward you with fantastic views after relatively easy hiking and short climbs.

Our kayaking was booked with Reine Adventure in Sakrisoya. Perfect views and great guides.

Our saunas were Reinefjorden Sjøhus and Lydersen Rorbuer Fjord Sauna. Both amazing with stunning views.

Our silent Trollfjord cruise was with Brim Explorer out of Svolvaer. Again, it was superb.

Lofoten was a dream: stunning scenery, easy to navigate, and friendly people. Our one regret was that we didn’t stay longer so that we could visit more of the islands, especially Austvagoya. Next time ????

All music was written and recorded by me, PA Scher, under my musical moniker Scherpa, (@scherpa_music) and recorded at home. Scherpa was born when my nephew, Milo, said to me, “You’re ‘Scher PA’ and you like the mountains, why don’t you call yourself Scherpa?”
