Haugesund is the main town in the region of Haugalandet, Western Norway. It has a long history, prosperous in the 19th century, and quite good at showing off on the national stage with a host of late summer festivals.

Haugesund er den største og viktigste byen i Nord-Rogaland. Den har en lang historie, ble rik på 1800-tallet og er dyktig til å vise igjen på den nasjonale scene med en rekke festivaler på sensommeren.
