Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, a Norwegian Weapons Manufacturing Company, has been awarded a contract from the Norwegian Ministry of Defense to increase the capability of the NASAMS (National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System) air defense system.
Enhanced Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) NASAMS Sentinel radar ensures the system operates according to future NATO standards, further enhancing identification of allied and enemy aircraft.
Norway continues to enhance their ground-based air defense capabilities by applying the latest technology available. Modernization will increase NATO's commonality and strengthen NASAMS capabilities, said Kjetil Reiten Myhra, Executive Vice President of Integrated Defense Systems at KONGSBERG.
