About Rethinking Food Charity: A Community Conversation

Rethinking Food Charity was an eight-month process led by Food First NL in 2022. Food First NL hosted conversations with charitable food program staff and volunteers, and people experiencing food insecurity throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. They talked about people's experiences with food programs and identified opportunities for improvement. Throughout the process, Food First NL, charitable food programs, and people with lived experience envisioned the future of food charity in Newfoundland and Labrador and identified steps to achieve it.
The Rethinking Food Charity Gathering was the capstone event for the process.
