I have worked at sea for the last 7 years on commercial ships, but never had I stepped foot in a sailboat until august last year.

After travelling the world with a backpack for the last 3 years on and off, I wanted a change. I wanted to keep travelling, but I wanted a base. I had always admired sailing and liveaboards, but I never had the guts to just go ahead and buy a boat.

Last year I took the step, bought the boat (Sweden Yachts C34 1980) sailed her 650 nm up to Trondheim, wintered aboard while studying to get my commercial STCW OOW liscence. Exams are nearly due, but I managed to squeeze in the first trip of the year!

Learning to sail is definately super fun, and I already love every second of it. It's alot of work to have and keep a boat, but I like it. I love being at sea, and sailing is something totally different. Suddenly you move with the pace of the ocean, with nature herself. That is just perfect.

Nothing is as calming as the sounds of the sea.

Enjoy watching me trying to figure out how to sail! And do not worry, I have several liscences and many years at sea, it's just the whole part with sails I do not know much about yet. But this trip thought me alot, Stay tuned for the next episode coming soon!
