Dr. Adelson, DMD has been in Leon County jail, charged with the murder for hire of FSU law professor Dan Markel. Markel had been married to Adelson's sister Wendi. The two had 2 sons and divorced in 2013. Charlie Adelson's ex-girlfriend Katherine Magbanua has been convicted and sentenced to life in prison for her role in plotting Markel's 2014 murder. Magbanua's children's father Sigfredo Garcia was also convicted and sentence to life in prison for shooting Dan Markel. Magbanua has made a proffer and is expected to be a witness for the State against Charles Adelson in his trial later this year. Wendi and her mother Donna Adelson have been named by the State as co-conspirators but have not been charged with any crime.
