We're driving to North Cape, the northernmost point of Europe! And of course we're doing it on a budget and are car camping all the way there in our old Saab!
In this episode we take the ferry to an island called "Værøy", supposedly a beautiful little island outside Lofoten. From what we've heard it's a hidden gem with nice hikes, and we're really excited... until we learn that they've in practice banned camping, and wants you to pay a lot of money just to park in a spot without services...
We're also unlucky with the weather, and we do the supposedly spectacular hikes in rain, wind, and fog. We're sadly not impressed overall, and can't wait to head back to the mainland.
We get that it's annoying with tourists, but forcing people to pay a lot of money while offering nothing in return is just not cool.
But in solidarity with the islanders:
Message to the world, Værøy does not want tourists, so go somewhere else!
