More than 3,000 km from the German border, and this time we really arrive. Episode 3 takes our 5.4 m camper van from Muonio in Finland into Norway, past the Alta rock art, across the treeless Finnmark plateau, 212 m under the sea through the Nordkapp tunnel to Magerøya, past Skarsvåg, and up to the globe at 71°10′21″ N at 9:40 pm in daylight. Then a quiet fjord morning at Russenes, Langfjord near Alta, Skibotn, Saana at Kilpisjärvi, and back into Sweden at Karesuvanto, ending the day in Gällivare. Three days, about 1,300 km, three countries. Next: south to Stockholm, Denmark and Hamburg.

• Plateau and parking are run separately: 15 NOK per person for the plateau + parking up to 150 NOK
• Nordkapp parking: max 6 h, no overnight stays
• Nordkapp tunnel: almost 7 km long, 212 m below sea level, no longer tolled
• Alta rock art (UNESCO), summer ticket: 175 NOK
• Norway right of access for vans: up to 2 nights in one spot where parking is allowed, at least 150 m from houses or cabins, no driving off-road
• Midnight sun at Nordkapp: mid-May to end of July
• The real northernmost point, Knivskjellodden, is ~1.4 km further north, ~18 km round-trip hike
