In early June we start hiking from Norway's/Europe's northernmost point Knivskjelodden (North Cape) south to Abisko in 38 days. It turned out to be a much harder trip than we had expected. The plan was to follow hiking route E1. There had been a lot of snow during the winter and the spring had been unusually cold. So when we started in June there was still an extremely high amount of snow in the mountains and a lot of water in the rivers. Therefore we were forced to hike a lot on roads for the first part of the trip. But we had to go through a lot of snow and cross many icy rivers. This is the first part of the trip from North Cape to Alta. 14 days and 244 km.
