Morocco’s government has pledged $11.7 billion US dollars to help victims of the recent 6.8 magnitude earthquake rebuild homes, businesses, and infrastructure over the next five years. With an expected 4.2 million Moroccan people now looking for some forms of aid, how are non-governmental organizations helping affected Moroccon’s in the longer term? VOA’s Anthony LaBruto has more. A New United Nations research estimates more than 900 million tons of food, or 17 percent of total food available to consumers in 2019, went into the waste bins.
